When I saw this surf board it reminded me about the time my daughter ’s ex-boyfriend and his brother went wind surfing across Lake Bonney in the River land, I was there when they did it.

It was a fairly windy and cold day, they thought they were pretty cool when they came out of the water. I said,"What was it like?" They said,,"Bloody cold." So that ’s what this picture is all about.

Ian Abdulla is one of Australia ’s most well known painters. Born in 1947,Swan Reach, South Australia, his father was part Afghan and his mother Ngarrindjeri from Point McLeay.Ian ’s art career started in 1988.His paintings often refer to life on the Murray River Riverland which has been an ongoing source of inspiration, and where he now lives. He has held over 100 highly successful solo exhibitions and his work is included in numerous significant group exhibitions.His awards include South Australian Aboriginal Artist of the Year,1991 and the Best Painting Award,National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award,1996. Rep:All major Australian public collections including AGSA,AGNSW,MAGNT,MCA,NGA,NGV,NMA.
