My sculpture is a future model surf board, the Burn 2010 Pro Model .It does away with the need for a jet ski and becomes itself the obnoxiously loud and stinking projectile, the opposite of surfing’s simple origins. 2010 isn’t that far away and in a world where all forms of speed are considered an advancement, the Burn Model could become a reality!

Artist and surf board manufacturer, Josh Dowling worked his way through art school by making surf boards. He has held a number of solo exhibitions combining painting and sculpture which explored the notion that technological advancement is not necessarily progress for humankind – a sentiment he expresses succinctly in Burn 2010.
